Amoxicillin Capsule

Specification: 250mg per capsule; 500mg per capsule

Pharmacological category: Broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, bactericidal agent

Product Description

Mechanism of action: A semi-synthetic broad-spectrum penicillin with strong bactericidal activity, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), destroys bacterial cell wall integrity and leads to bacterial lysis and death. It has broad antibacterial spectrum against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria, fast absorption, high bioavailability and strong tissue penetration, with no cross-resistance to most sensitive bacteria.

Indications: Treatment of mild to moderate bacterial infections caused by sensitive bacteria, including respiratory tract infection (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract infection (cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis), biliary tract infection, gastrointestinal infection (enteritis, dysentery), skin and soft tissue infection, otitis media, sinusitis and dental infection; adjuvant treatment of gynecological infection, neonatal infection and postoperative prophylactic anti-infection.

Usage and dosage: Oral administration, take with warm water before or after meals (no effect on absorption). Adult: 250mg~500mg (1~2 capsules) once a time, 3 times a day; severe infection: 500mg (2 capsules) once a time, 4 times a day. Pediatric: 20~40mg per kg body weight per day, divided into 3 times for administration; infants under 1 year old use half dose strictly according to weight. The course of treatment is 7~14 days, and can be extended appropriately for severe infection.

Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients allergic to amoxicillin, penicillin antibiotics, this product and any excipients; contraindicated in patients with a history of penicillin anaphylactic shock; contraindicated in patients with infectious mononucleosis.

Cautious population: Use with caution in patients with allergic constitution (asthma, urticaria, eczema); use with caution in patients with mild to moderate hepatic and renal insufficiency (reduce dosage and monitor liver and kidney function); use with caution in pregnant and lactating women (safe under medical guidance, no adverse effect on fetus and infant); elderly patients with reduced organ function take low dose; infants and children use strictly according to weight dosage to avoid overdose; avoid combined use with probenecid to prevent drug accumulation; do not use for viral infection to avoid drug resistance.

Adverse reactions: High safety and mild adverse reactions, lower incidence than injection preparations. Common reactions: mild gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, abdominal distension, loose stool, diarrhea), which relieves spontaneously after drug withdrawal or taking with meals. Allergic reactions: skin rash, pruritus, urticaria are occasional, severe anaphylactic shock is extremely rare (occur rapidly, need emergency rescue); eosinophilia and fever are rare. Rare reactions: mild elevation of transaminase, thrombocytopenia and oral candidiasis, which are reversible after drug withdrawal. No obvious toxic and side effects with conventional dosage for clinical use.

Notes: Skin allergy test is recommended for the first use and re-use after interval; do not take with acidic drinks and alkaline drugs to avoid drug inactivation; the capsule is white or off-white powder, forbidden to use if discolored, damp or agglomerated; long-term medication may cause intestinal flora disorder and secondary fungal infection, which can be relieved by probiotics; store in a cool and dry place, avoid light and high temperature, seal for preservation; validity period: 36 months.
