Pharmacological category: Antimalarial drug, artemisinin derivative

Product Description

1.Mechanism of action:

Inhibits the mitochondrial function of plasmodium, destroys the membrane structure of plasmodium, kills the plasmodium in erythrocytic stage rapidly, has a strong and rapid antimalarial effect, especially sensitive to chloroquine-resistant falciparum malaria, intramuscular injection is quickly absorbed, onset in 30 minutes, the effect lasts for 24~48 hours.

2.Indications:

Mainly used for the treatment of falciparum malaria, also applicable to vivax malaria; especially for chloroquine-resistant falciparum malaria and severe malaria with high fever and coma.

3.Usage and dosage:

Intramuscular injection only. Adult: The first dose is 160mg, then 80mg once a day, for a total of 5 consecutive days. Pediatric: The first dose is 3.2mg per kg body weight, then 1.6mg per kg body weight once a day, for a total of 5 consecutive days; infants adjust the dose according to weight strictly, follow the doctor's advice.

4.Contraindications:

Contraindicated in patients allergic to this product and artemisinin derivatives.

5.Cautious population:

Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic and renal insufficiency; pregnant women and lactating women use with caution (weigh the benefits and risks); elderly patients with weak physical condition use with caution; children use according to weight, the safety of neonates is not clear.

6.Adverse reactions:

Mild and rare adverse reactions, common local pain, induration at the injection site; occasional nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, fatigue; rare rash, pruritus, elevated transaminase; no obvious toxic and side effects on heart, liver and kidney at the recommended dose, no cinchonism reaction (different from quinine).
