Scopolamine Butylbromide Injection is a typical anticholinergic agent. Its core function is to relieve smooth muscle spasms by blocking the M-cholinergic receptors in the body.
Clinically, it is mainly indicated for the following scenarios:
1.Usage and dosage:
For adults, intramuscular injection or intravenous injection. One dose is 20mg. If necessary, the drug can be administered again 30 minutes later. The maximum daily dose is 80mg. For children, 0.4-0.6mg/kg per dose based on body weight, administered intramuscularly or intravenously in 1-2 doses. Excessive use is strictly prohibited.
2.Precautions:
This product and scopolamine-based drugs should not be used by those who are allergic to them; patients with glaucoma should avoid using it; those with enlarged prostate and urinary retention should not use it; patients with pyloric obstruction or intestinal obstruction should not use it; patients with myasthenia gravis should not use it. Cautionary groups: Patients with tachycardia, hyperthyroidism, ulcerative colitis, and reflux esophagitis should use it with caution; pregnant women and lactating women should avoid using it.
3.Adverse reactions:
The adverse reactions are mild and short-lived. They can be relieved after discontinuation of the medication. Common symptoms include dry mouth, facial flushing, blurred vision, difficulty urinating, and constipation. Rare symptoms include palpitations, dizziness, nausea, and rash. There are no severe allergic or liver/kidney toxicity reactions.
4.Precautions:
This product is an alkaline injection solution. Avoid mixing it with acidic drugs for intravenous infusion. It is recommended to administer it alone.
