Amoxicillin Sodium for Injection

Pharmacological category: Penicillin class broad-spectrum antibiotics. Mechanism of bactericidal action: Inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, causing the bacteria to expand and rupture due to the destruction of the permeability barrier, resulting in death. It has strong antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria.

Product Description

Indications: It is used for treating respiratory tract infections, urinary and reproductive tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, digestive tract infections, ear, nose and throat infections caused by sensitive bacteria. It is also used for sepsis, typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever, and can be used for infections in abdominal cavity, biliary tract and other areas caused by sensitive bacteria.

 

Usage and dosage: Intramuscular injection or intravenous drip. For adults, 0.5 - 1.0g per time, once every 6 - 8 hours, with a daily dose not exceeding 4g; for children, the daily dose is 50 - 100mg/kg based on body weight, administered in 3 - 4 doses; for newborns and premature infants, 50mg/kg per time, once every 12 hours, and the dosage should be adjusted according to renal function.

 

Precautions: This product and penicillin-based drugs should not be used by those who are allergic to them.

Cautionary groups: Patients with infectious mononucleosis should use it with caution; those with a history of allergic diseases such as asthma or eczema should use it with caution; patients with impaired kidney function should use it with caution; pregnant women and lactating women should use it with caution.

 

Adverse reactions: Common allergic reactions include rash and itching. Rarely, anaphylactic shock may occur. In case of occurrence, immediate rescue measures must be taken. Gastrointestinal reactions may manifest as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. A few patients may experience blood system abnormalities such as anemia, thrombocytopenia, and eosinophilia. Occasionally, liver function abnormalities and secondary infections may occur. These symptoms will recover after discontinuation of the medication.

 

Precautions: Before using the medication, a detailed inquiry about the history of drug allergies must be conducted, and a penicillin skin test should be performed. Those who test positive should not use it. This product should not be dripped together with aminoglycoside antibiotics in the same bottle. When used in combination with probenecid, it can increase the blood drug concentration and prolong the half-life. This product is a time-dependent antibiotic and regular administration is required to ensure efficacy.
