Product Description

Mechanism of action: The combination of artemether and lumefantrine has a synergistic antimalarial effect. Artemether rapidly kills the erythrocytic stage plasmodium by damaging its mitochondrial structure; Lumefantrine inhibits the nucleic acid synthesis and metabolism of plasmodium, prolongs the antimalarial effect, delays the emergence of drug resistance, oral absorption is good, the peak effect is reached in 4-6 hours, and the duration of action is long.

 

Indications: Special drug for the treatment of acute uncomplicated falciparum malaria in infants, children and adults; also effective for vivax malaria, suitable for clinical first-line antimalarial treatment.

 

Usage and dosage: Oral administration, take with food or milk to increase absorption, shake well before use. Adult: 20ml (4 doses) at one time, take twice a day, for 3 consecutive days, total course of treatment 6 doses. Pediatric: Dosed by body weight, infants ≥5kg: 5ml once for 5-14kg, 10ml once for 15-24kg, 15ml once for 25-34kg, take twice a day, for 3 consecutive days. Strictly follow the weight dose, do not increase the dose arbitrarily.

 

Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients allergic to this product, artemether, lumefantrine and any excipients in the preparation.

 

Cautious population: Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic and renal insufficiency; use with caution in patients with cardiovascular diseases and QT interval prolongation; pregnant women and lactating women use with caution after weighing the benefits and risks; elderly patients with weak physical condition use with caution; infants under 5kg are not recommended to use it.

 

Adverse reactions: Mild and transient adverse reactions, common gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite; occasional dizziness, headache, fatigue, sleep disturbance; rare rash, pruritus, arthralgia, myalgia; a small number of patients have mild QT interval prolongation, which is reversible after drug withdrawal, no obvious cinchonism reaction.

 

Notes: This product is only for the treatment of acute malaria, not for malaria prevention; it is only effective for erythrocytic stage plasmodium, and primaquine can be combined if necessary to prevent recurrence; avoid combined use with drugs that prolong QT interval to prevent arrhythmia; store in a cool and dark place, avoid light and high temperature, and the syrup should be used up within the validity period after opening.
