Pharmacological category: Nitroimidazole antibiotics, anti-anaerobic/bacterial/protozoal drug
1.Mechanism of action:
Enters the anaerobic bacteria and protozoa cells, reduces the nitro group to an amino group, interferes with the DNA synthesis and replication of pathogenic microorganisms, exerts bactericidal and anti-protozoal effects. It has a strong effect on anaerobic bacteria, Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia lamblia and amoeba, and is sensitive to most anaerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
2.Indications:
Used for infections caused by sensitive anaerobic bacteria including oral infection, abdominal infection, pelvic infection, skin and soft tissue infection, septicemia; also indicated for intestinal and hepatic amebiasis, vaginal trichomoniasis, giardiasis; adjuvant treatment for anaerobic bacterial infection combined with other antibiotics.
3.Usage and dosage:
Oral administration, shake well before use. Adult: 20~30ml once, 3 times a day. Pediatric: 7.5~10mg per kg body weight each time, 3 times a day, the course of treatment is 7~10 days, adjust the dosage according to the condition. For amoebiasis and trichomoniasis, the dosage can be increased appropriately and follow the doctor's advice.
4.Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients allergic to this product, nitroimidazole derivatives and any excipients of the preparation; contraindicated in patients with active central nervous system diseases and blood diseases; contraindicated in the first 3 months of pregnancy.
5.Cautious population:
Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic and renal insufficiency (reduce the dosage properly); use with caution in patients with gastritis and peptic ulcer; pregnant women in the second and third trimesters use with caution after weighing the benefits and risks; lactating women suspend breastfeeding during medication; elderly patients use with caution and reduce the dosage appropriately; infants and young children use under the guidance of doctors.
6.Adverse reactions:
Common mild gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite and metallic taste in the mouth; occasional dizziness, headache, fatigue and numbness of limbs; rare rash, pruritus, leukopenia and elevated transaminase; long-term or large-dose use may cause peripheral neuritis, convulsion and ataxia; the adverse reactions of syrup are milder than tablets and injections, more suitable for children and patients with dysphagia.
7.Notes:
Avoid drinking alcohol and alcoholic beverages during medication and within 7 days after withdrawal to prevent disulfiram-like reaction (flushing, headache, vomiting, palpitations); long-term medication should monitor blood routine and liver function regularly; complete the full course of treatment to avoid drug resistance; store in a cool and dark place, shake well before each use.
